This will be an engaging festival focusing around the city's carbon neutral ambitions with the aim of turning years of plans, reports and commitments into practical action. It follows the recently announced objective of achieving a carbon neutral Exeter by 2030 and the appointment of Exeter City Futures (ECF) to curate a shared city roadmap.
It’s clearly an ambitious target, but if there’s anywhere equipped to make it a reality, it's Exeter.
With the quality of the expertise that we can draw on, the spirit of collaborationin Exeter, and with the will of the people from across our city’s ecosystem, ECF is determined to demonstrate that Exeter is best in class in this key arena - as we are in so many others.
The engagement and analysis work to date has identified many of the things Exeter needs to do, the key now is to identify the factors that are in the way, preventing the city from taking practical action.
Event Details and Getting Involved
This event is scheduled to take place on March 26th, 2020, in the city centre. (subject to venue availability). Please save this date, and make sure to hold it in your diaries. Further details of the timings and location will be confirmed in January.
Everyone is welcome, and the aim is for the summit to bring together a diverse and engaging programme of keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops. There will also be exhibition spaces, and we will seek to incorporate “fringe” events that would be run by our partners.
There will also be community events held across Exeter - and a number of exploratory workshops, to identify key barriers from various perspectives that will help develop the programme as we go.
If you would like to host or take part in one of our workshops, or would be keen to run a fringe event, please contact james.geer@globalcityfutures ASAP - slots are filling up fast!
