SETsquared Exeter has been confirmed as the long-term provider of regional Business Acceleration and Innovation services as a result of the partnership agreement between the University of Exeter and Exeter Science Park Ltd.
SETsquared Exeter, a member of the international award winning SETsquared Partnership, will play a vital role in supporting early-stage businesses across Exeter Science Park as well as those outside the area by connecting with regional hubs and allowing more people to have access to the support functions available. This enhanced support is complemented by an experienced and growing business acceleration team armed to foster more startups.
Based at Exeter Science Park Centre, the team are also able to focus on more high-growth potential businesses via the SETsquared Exeter Business Foundations Programme and are developing a new incubation space.
Despite the current challenging business climate, they are welcoming 12 exciting new tech start-ups on to the structured learning programme this month.
The cohort, which will start to progress through the programme in mid-September, is comprised of an impressive mix of businesses, with areas of focus ranging from wearable tech and dental VR solutions to AI platforms and intelligent job design technology.
Incubation & Acceleration Manager Ben Voysey commented:
“The SETsquared Exeter team has been working really hard behind the scenes to reconfigure our programme content for online delivery. We are now delivering all seminars, workshops and surgeries remotely, and we have built in new touch points and communication tools to allow businesses to stay fully connected with our support environment.
Good luck to everyone joining the September cohort!”
This is an exciting time for SETsquared Exeter, who have also recently secured £800k from Research England to create a vibrant and innovative ‘Enterprise Zone’ to strengthen local and regional growth.
