We are pleased to announce that PKF Francis Clark has joined the SETsquared Exeter Programme as a professional services partner, providing specialist accounting and finance support for technology start-up businesses.
PKF Francis Clark is an award-winning firm of chartered accountants and business advisers with over 750 staff and eight offices in the south west. They will bring with them a wealth of experience having supported numerous owner-managed tech businesses from start up to exit.
SETsquared programme support activities will be led by Exeter-based Partner Lewis Banfield who will take on the role of Advisor in Residence (AiR), providing regular advice through one-to-one meetings, drop-in surgeries, seminars and workshops, which all form part of the structured Business Foundations Programme.
Lewis is a trusted advisor to a wide range of SMEs in the region and has developed a strong technical background in order to ensure that his clients are looked after when tackling the various challenges they face – including tax and general business issues, red tape compliance, as well as more long term strategic challenges.
SETsquared Exeter Incubation & Acceleration Manager Ben Voysey commented: “We are pleased to welcome Lewis and his team on board. Many tech founders find getting to grips with the financial and accounting aspects of their businesses challenging. Putting robust systems and strategies in place from the outset is a key part of the SETsquared Exeter Business Foundations Programme and we are looking forward to delivering these elements with the support of Lewis and PKF Francis Clark”.
Lewis Banfield added: “At PKF Francis Clark, we’re proud to be part of the support team helping tech businesses set themselves up for future growth. Many tech founders set up in business because they have a great idea or product, but may lack general business experience. That’s where the SETsquared Business Foundations programme comes in; allowing us to work with these businesses to provide a broad range of support, enabling them to drive their businesses forward in a controlled and sustainable way.”
